The Government requires that local housing authorities take a long term and strategic approach to tackling and managing homelessness, including rough sleeping in their area. This Homelessness Strategy is designed to guide the work of the Castle Morpeth Housing Homelessness Team over the next two years, and also provide longer term objectives for the new unitary authority.This Homelessness Strategy was developed following a review of the current homelessness service, and consultation with partner agencies and stakeholders.

The strategy must be consistent with other Borough and County strategies such as the Housing Strategy, Supporting People Strategy and the Community and Safety Strategy.

Following consultation and subsequent amendment the Council’s Executive approved a homelessness strategy for Castle Morpeth 2008 - 2010. You can download the strategy document from the "Related documents" link on this page.
