The Blue Badge Scheme is designed for on-street parking for the disabled. However many off-street parking providers do allow concessions to badge holders.
Castle Morpeth Borough Council allows Blue Badge holders to park free of charge in any of our off-street pay and display car parks, in any bay not just designated disabled bays
To take advantage of this concession you must:
1 Display your badge so that the expiry date is clearly visible from the outside of the vehicle.
2 Ensure that you badge has not expired. The badges generally only last for three years. Social Services do not issue reminders. They advise you to apply for a renewal three weeks before your badge expires.
3 Use the timer disc set to your arrival time when you use a short stay car park.
4 You must not overstay the maximum time limit allowed in the car park (see the notices by the machine for the maximum stay).
You can get a Blue Badge for disabled parking from your local Social Services office. The on-street parking in Northumberland is enforced by the police and traffic wardens not by officers of this Council.
